Lakota sweat lodge

Inipi (Lakota language)

Description

The sweat lodge I practise is from the Lakota tradition from North America. It is a very ancient practise. Stones are heated up in a fire for about two hours. A wooden structure in the shape of an igloo ( Inipi) will be covered with blankets. In 4 parts, 7 stones each time will be brought in the Inipi and 4 songs will be sung.

Effects

We go in the Inipi to clean ourself, body and soul. We build as well our self confidence and diminish our fears.

How we use it

We meet before we start the fire and we organise the last preparations together in order to disconnect from the world and connect slowly with ourself. After the Inipi, we will eat snacks and drink tea or water.

Make an appointment

Inipis will mostly be on Saturdays in Weggis, once a month. Inscription on a Saturday, (minimum of 5 participants)
